Holistic Esthetics and Spa Therapist Diploma

Windsong College of Healing Arts offers the Esthetics and Spa Practitioner Diploma in a 48 week full time combined distance where each module is credited towards the Diploma. Each module builds learning towards the practice as an Esthetics and Spa Therapist. This offering is full time for 48 weeks with a minimum study time of 30-35 hours per week. Students will focus on creating individualized plans for improving client’s health and wellness using Oriental Analysis and treatment in the 5 Element system and the Ayurvedic system. Esthetics sciences and theory lead to the practice of personal care and recovery from stressors and aging factors. Emphasis is placed on the practical application of combined skills for maximum client benefit. Graduates obtain a full range of skills that allow them to access multiple streams of employment opportunities. The Onsite Practical Skills Learning is offered at our school classrooms and students gain professional supervised practical experience at our Professional Spa with Windsong College of Healing Arts Practical Student Clinic. The Distance Combined Studies method of program is Designated to be Student Loan and HRDC eligible, Educational Fund Eligible, and Bank Student Line of credit eligible. We are Designated by the EQA for foreign students to obtain Study Visas for the duration of the program.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program the successful student will have reliably demonstrated the ability to safely and effectively perform a treatment in: 

  • 15 minute oriental analyses consultation for personalized treatment planning
  • 30~60 minute Chinese Reflexology Acupressure session
  • 15~30 minute Chair Bodywork or Massage session
  • 30~60 minute neck, shoulder, and back Stress Release Swedish Massage table session 
  • 60 minute full Acupressure, Reiki, or Marma table session 
  • 60 or 120 minute combination table session combining Oriental Bodywork skills including Chinese Reflexology, Acupressure, Shiatsu, Reiki Massage, and Floral Essences 
  • 60 or 90 minute Hot Waterstone Massage with oils or Hot Stone Warmup with Shiatsu
  • 60 or 90 minute full body Acupressure Relaxation Massage with Oils, Aromatherapy, Energy Techniques, and Floral Essences
  • Perform Full body scrubs, dry brushing and body wraps
  • Define and demonstrate the safety and contraindications of Bodywork and Massage
  • Define and explain the benefits and contraindications of all products used

Upon successful completion of the program, students will safely and efficiently perform:

  • Manicures and pedicures with professional polish application 
  • Proficient and safe waxing procedures for the entire body 
  • Eyelash and eyebrow tinting
  • 75 minute facial with complete skin analysis and effective product selection 
  • Perform safe and effective extractions with complete facial massage and pressure point techniques
  • Define and explain the benefits and contradictions of all products used
